Balázs KántásRe-tuning

Balázs Kántás, a literary historian has made available to our publisher a book of studies. In the first major block of his book the young specialist deals with the oeuvre of the German poet Paul Celan (1920-1970) in great depth. In smaller units he analyses in depth the lyrical and literary theoretical work of István Géher, György Rába, Ildikó Józan, Erika Szepes, Csaba Szigeti, Márton Soltész, András Kappanyos, Gábor Bezeczky, Zoltán Zsávolya and András Veres.

The third unit paddles into different waters in the fields of literary history: discusses the reception of Csaba Lászlóffy's and András Németh's creative units then he returns to theoretical questions and writes comprehensively about contemporary Hungarian literature as a whole. Later he deals with István Kemény, with a comparison of the interpretations of the great aria My Country, My Country /Hazám, hazám (in the drama Bánk the Viceroy/ Bánk bán by József Katona) and with Gotthold Ephraim Lessing.

It covers the interpretation and analysis of several problems in translation theory. This is followed by analyses of István Turczi, Ádám Nyerges Gábor, László Krasznahorkai and József Bíró, among others.

Balázs Kántás also enjoys writing comparative essays and likes to make excursions into the field of the co-arts, such as classical music, art and popular cult films.
