14:00–20:00 — Sprang / Interwoven Communities — Lecture and Workshop
During this 10-session workshop series, participants can create sprang textiles woven from threads fixed at both ends. Using this ancient technique—also known in Hungarian as weaving on a frame—you can produce flexible, delicate, lace; thick, multi-layered fabrics patterned with colour and structure; or tubular and other three-dimensional textiles.
Throughout the course, participants will discover the wide possibilities of this prehistoric method, gradually progressing from simpler to more complex techniques while creating contemporary objects. The first project will be a small pouch.
The workshop series will be accompanied in 2026 by a technique demonstration, exhibition, and conference.

18:00 — Sewing Box
The Sewing Box is the new community-based recycling, textile, and sewing workshop of the House of Arts Veszprém. It is a creative space where participants can learn sustainable practices and improve their sewing skills through various hand-sewing and upcycling techniques.
At our regular sessions, we demonstrate ways to give new life to used textiles and garments—whether through mending or transformation—and encourage incorporating these methods into daily life. The workshop also connects to ongoing institutional projects, offering insights into sewing traditions from different cultures that enrich participants’ craftsmanship. We pay special attention to traditional handmade techniques based on sustainability and respect for materials—such as the Japanese sashiko stitch, which combines repair with decoration. This technique not only provides aesthetic pleasure but also offers a way to reinterpret existing garments.
This year, Sewing Box sessions focus on the basics and variations of sashiko: participants will embroider patterns, create small useful items, and learn creative textile reuse.

17:00 — Tamás Ábel: I Will Not Be Who I Was — Exhibition Opening
The artist tells the story of his own transformation through glass sculptures, paintings, and a large site-specific installation made of glass fibers. His work reflects the slow and difficult process of recognizing and reshaping his various addictions, intolerances, and traumas—whether related to food and drink, gambling, possessions, disorder, or loneliness. It also seeks to show possible paths toward liberation, connection, and genuine companionship—expressed through a narrative blend of glass, geometry, and realism.

Artists Kinga Enzsöly and Hajnalka Tulisz lead a guided tour of their exhibition Frozen Cloud and Desert Dust, which opens spaces of dialogue between their works. Through this interplay, tensions between revelation and concealment, abstraction and reality emerge—blurring and bridging their boundaries.
By layering different spatial, temporal, and perceptual dimensions, the artists draw attention to subtle shifts between perception, interpretation, and representation.
