"The sculpture is a transfigured material, a lifeless ecstasy endowed with the glamour of life, an ecstasy hammered into a material, an emotion sweated onto a polished surface, a feeling of life frozen into a crystal, a magic, a message whose materiality is only true in its appearance."

"The Birth of Genome Forms in our Material World

According to physicist David Deutsch the genome contains an internal representation of the world - a kind of virtual reality that has been created over millions of years of evolution. In other words it is a set of information that is aware of its own environment.

The genome form is the internal, subjective filtered objectification of perceived, informative knowledge. It is a transfigured organic form that virtually satisfies our sense of beauty through a mysterious association of images. The aesthetic stems from the evolutionary primordial, one might say animal, depths of our origins. We shape the environment in which our spirit feels at home through subconscious expressions of pleasure. This environment is not free of intimate, erotic permeations and objects of practical comfort. Together, they create an environment that is in tune with our sense of life.

I believe in evolution including the evolution of consciousness. In Michelangelo's fresco The Creation of Man in the Sistine Chapel the touch of God is the divine spark that awakens the "Consciousness" in the human animal. Ever since, God has lived in us by creating a virtual image of the world within us, and in the process of creation we create our own liveable (or non-liveable) world. By creation I mean not only works of art, but also any construction, any material world that could not have come into being without our divinity. With the timelessness of our consciousness, it cycles between past and future, perceiving and reassessing its environment, sometimes on a realistic basis, sometimes on the level of art, filtering through our inner self, transfiguring, recreating; its music as dance, prose, image and last but not least as concrete form.

Without creation our society would resemble an anthill. Our only hope for survival is the evolution of consciousness through our creative being."
