This-Connected is a series of international art residency programmes and related exhibitions. Artists from different backgrounds explore the cultural contexts of the 2023 European Capitals of Culture, such as Timisoara, Elefsina and Veszprém.
The first part of the programme started in Veszprém, contributing artists:

This section of the exhibition showcases works created by Romanian and Hungarian artists. The possibilities of theoretical and practical connections between the artistic disciplines are illustrated, through visual art, analogue or experimental photography, 3D printed sculptures and animations created with the help of artificial intelligence.
At the conceptual heart of the project is the exploration and interpretation of the paradox of "Disconnected connection", which draws on various contemporary cultural contexts. We are part of several spheres that intertwine when we find similar interests, whether creative, reflective or purely expressive. In This-Connected we reflect on social issues through artistic means, creating dialogue, communication and interaction through research and creation.
Artists investigate natural phenomena and material heritage at a micro or macro level, study traces of art history, or continue their own series, looking for inspiration in the specific forms or ideas of a certain place. In this way, socio-cultural similarities and differences result in an exhibition where art is created through relationships that generate concepts and aesthetics as part of a freshly established relationship. Within this framework, we reflect on the freedom of choice, the way to create a dialogue with others, to overcome the fragmentation of the (dis)coupled sphere. In addition, the works explore the wider cultural themes of the European cities in which we work, seeking to construct new interpretations from outside perspectives within the creative framework of the residencies.
