The *Mirror – Face to Face* exhibition series, now being held for the eleventh time, has become an internationally recognised and acclaimed event in the field of contemporary grapgic art..

Over the years, alongside regular Italian participation, numerous international artists have also exhibited in Vicenza, representing the most significant directions in contemporary printmaking.

This year, Hungary is the featured guest – a country whose history is interwoven with Italian cultural and artistic life in many ways. Mirror – Face to Face thus becomes a reunion of old friends in a Europe that, at the dawn of the era of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, is striving to redefine itself.

Under the curatorship of Szonja Dohnál, 27 Hungarian artists (in collaboration with the Ajka Graphic Workshop and Tibor Csabai), and under the selection of curators Valeria Bertesina and Roberto Nassi, 27 Italian artists engage in an artistic dialogue. The exhibition aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of contemporary printmaking. It offers insight into the world of creative studios, showcases sources of inspiration and preferred techniques, and strikes a balance between tradition and experimentation. The artistic project also serves as a platform to foster dialogue between artists from the two countries.

Visitors are invited to explore the artworks through a kaleidoscope of subjective perspectives. Beyond individual and national characteristics, they may discover shared themes, conversations, and overlaps – whether through symbolic references, abstract or figurative styles, multimedia approaches, or the meticulous application of traditional techniques. Without thematic constraints or technical limitations, the exhibition offers space for free artistic expression and for combinations of techniques that transcend the boundaries of printmaking.

As in previous years, the exhibition is held in two venues: the Palladian Villa Caldogno (Caldogno, Vicenza) and the Dubniczay Palace (House of Arts Veszprém), near Lake Balaton. The series continues in October in Hungary at the Ajka Cultural Centre.
