....In 2008 I made a sundial with a Möbius strip as a shadow tracker. One outline per hour was made by drawing the edges of the projection of the tape, so the shadow as a tone filled the outline. The angle of incidence of light gives the geometry of the shadow lines....
The system has since been extended and the role of the ribbon has been continually transformed. The series currently presented deals with the point as a moment and the parallel line as a slice of space-time.
Time has a different relation to space at different stages of life. Distance in time is synchronous with distance in space when, for example we travel. In recent years I have been on several journeys and this distancing - experiencing the synchronicity of space and time - has been a new experience for me, similar to painting. I capture these moments in my paintings. The finitude and infinity of time can only be perceived in relation to this. The pictures are a series of moments."
