Travel around Lake Balaton. 123 years have passed since Károly Eötvös wrote his first book of short stories. Since then, following the popular fiction, many people have written down their travel experiences in the countryside through diary entries, poems, music or photographs. For three years Csaba Toroczkai has photographed the landscapes of Lake Balaton, Bakony and the Balaton Uplands. He called his trips "wanderings". The common point of his photographs is the exploration of the relationship between light and the natural environment.
"Nature is generous and wonderful. It always gives more than I can imagine. It's up to me to be able to receive it, to notice it. For me, there is no such thing as a good time or a bad time. I don't stick to what I have planned, I try to become one with the landscape, open-hearted and receptive, and I always wonder how lucky I am."
The images, depicting the rich natural heritage of the three regions, were first shown in the exhibition hall of the Liszt Institute in Tokyo in spring 2023. The complete exhibition is shown in July 2023 in the Dubniczay Palace of the House of Arts in Veszprém. Csaba Toroczkai, photojournalist, photo editor, contributor to well-known Hungarian journals and magazines, has been working in the field of photography for more than three decades. His professional activity has been recognised with numerous awards.
