In connection with the theme Roads - Connections - Networks, an exhibition of Judit Stowe's photographs will open at the Dubniczay Palace in Veszprém.

Judit Kovács was born in Úrkút and spent her youth in Veszprém. She graduated from the László Lovassy High School, and her class had their graduation in the castle. This tells us that the artist is in her 70s - you wouldn't think it from her photos. For ten years she had sung in the Veszprém City Choir led by István Zámbó, and she still keeps in touch with her friends from that time.

Thanks to her British husband's work, she had lived in Hanover, London, Paris, Houston, New Delhi and Beijing, then moved to the United States in 1995. She studied the technique and art of photography in Houston and at New York University. In 2007 she settled in France.

Over the past 25 years, she has exhibited in nearly 25 solo shows in the United States, China and Europe, and has participated in nearly as many group exhibitions. 7 of her photoes are on view at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and she has won first place in several international photography competitions. She is delighted to finally be able to show her work in the city of her youth. Thie is how she describes her art:

"The advent of digital technology has revolutionised photography and I have no hesitation in using this tool. I look for the things in the world that many people don't notice or that seem insignificant, I capture them, and then I use the artistic means appropriate to the subject to transform the sight and interpret the message of the subject. It's not how and what the work is made with, it's the end result that matters. And for me, the essence of this end result is that the spectacle I show evokes emotions in the viewer."
