The fact that the author lived in Veszprém in those years, where he spent his childhood was also in favour of the publication. István Nemere, twelve years old at the time shares his memories of the days of the revolution. It is a mixture of the opinions expressed in the public discourse of the city at the time and the narrator's own perspective, which is a result of his age. This also makes reading interesting.
"It was a good feeling to see that when I walked along many streets, but especially on Pipacs Street, the Kossuth coat of arms was in the window of every house. As it is everywhere today, it is hard to understand what a sensation it was then and how good it made us feel. Needless to say at dawn on 4 November the coat of arms disappeared from everywhere - including our windows. But I didn't buy it."
